The short version
As at the date above, michelle.net.au carries no affiliate links at all. No affiliate programme has been applied for, joined or approved. Nothing on this site currently earns a commission.
That will change. This page explains what will happen when it does, and it is published in advance so the rules are on the record before there is any money involved.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a link to a product on someone else’s website that carries a code identifying where the visitor came from. If you follow it and buy something, this site may receive a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is not affected — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
How affiliate links will be handled here
- Disclosed at the point of use. Any article containing affiliate links will say so, visibly, before the first such link — not in small print at the bottom.
- Never hidden inside editorial judgement. A commercial relationship will never determine what an article concludes. Where the evidence for a product is weak, the article will say the evidence is weak, whether or not the link earns anything.
- No invented testing. This site does not run laboratory tests, does not award star ratings, and does not claim personal use of products it has not used. Comparisons are based on published information — ingredient lists, label claims, third-party certifications and peer-reviewed research — and the basis is always stated.
- Ownership disclosed separately. Where the publisher has a financial interest in a product beyond an affiliate commission, that is disclosed as ownership, not as a recommendation.
Advertising
This site is supported by display advertising as well. Advertising is sold and served by third parties, and the publisher does not choose which individual advertisements appear on any given page. An advertisement appearing next to an article is not an endorsement of the advertised product by this site, and the presence of an advertiser has no bearing on editorial content.
Advertising uses cookies and similar technologies. What that means for your data, and how to opt out of personalised advertising, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
This is not medical advice
Whether or not a link earns a commission, nothing on this site is medical advice, and no article diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any condition. Decisions about supplements or any other health product belong with you and a qualified healthcare professional.
